Leave the Heroine a "Thanks!" and where you hail from in the "Comments" section below. It's just for fun, the Heroine doesn't use any of your info.  Frankly, she's got better things to do. . .

Enjoy!

  23. Thank you so much. I really needed the Bl4-428 Manual. Broke a needle and need to find some. I have searched for 2 days for a Manual. Bought my Serger new in the Chicago IL area years ago. Very pleased with it. Still works wonderfully. Have had it serviced several times for routine maintenance with no breakages. Look forward to many more years of service. Baby Lock is the way to sew.

    Best regards.

  52. Thank you for your generosity in sharing the Babylok BL4-428 manual! bought my serger new in 1988, and haven't used it in over 20 years, due to losing the manual, and a broken foot pedal. the good news is I was able to repair the foot pedal so the machine works. hopefully after a good cleaning and this manual, I'll be able to trouble shoot why the pressor foot and feed dog are not moving. Thanks again, from Powder Springs, Georgia

    1. It may be the eccentric cam that is causing the trouble. My sergers are doing the same thing. I found information on this website :http://sewingmachineservicebywayne.com/blog/2013/5/11/baby-lock-serger-hand-wheel-hard-to-turn
I hope this information can help you. Jean Warminster PA

  64. Hello, My Grandmother left me the baby lock bl4_428 overlock serger. If anyone has any advice i would be very thankful. I would love to get some use out of it, but this one is a little out of my depth. Thank you.

  66. Thank you so much! I bought a JC Penny model 7015, and it is basically a B14-428 made for JC Penny catalog sale. It was all like new, even had the original Styrofoam cradle in the carry case, but it did not come with the manual. Welp... threading a serger is a nightmare! Even the new ones can be difficult, let alone a classic one with no manual!

1st thing I am going to do is thread it up with 4 different colors and see what they do. Then, I will cut off the threads at the top, tie them to like colored spools, and pull them through so I don't ever have to re-thread this sucker again!! (now we all know that's not happening, but a girl can dream!)

Thanks again... You're Da Bomb, girlfriend!
